Best Dressed Award: Jeremy Allen White “Atelier Calvin Klein”
This “minimalist luxury” double-breasted tuxedo suit, as Calvin Klein designers called it, is a relaxed yet rich take on the traditional tuxedo. Drapes in satin shirts, wide, high-waisted pants, and large lapels bring his skinny suits to the forefront of fashion.

Worst Dressed: Rosamund Pike in Dior Haute Couture
Everything could have been great for Rosamund Pike in this Dior haute couture dress that harkened back to the fashion house's revolutionary 1940s. And she decided to put a lace apple on her head.
This is something I never thought I would write.

Best Dressed: Ayo Edebiri (Prada)
This satin Prada dress by Ayo Edebiri was one of the best dresses of the night, with a brighter color than most of the other red dresses on the carpet. The voile drape detail on the back and matching satin heels are all you need for this ensemble and it's perfectly delicious.
Sometimes all you need is great color for the perfect silhouette.

Worst dressed: Selena Gomez in custom Giorgio Armani Prive
On the other hand, here's how not to do red:
This custom Giorgio Armani Privé silk cutout top with floral embroidery and asymmetrical skirt with outrageous levels of tulle is ridiculously overcomplicated and swallows Selena's petite frame.
I guarantee you that dresses sold at the mall will do better.

Best Dressed: Margot Robbie in custom Giorgio Armani Prive
Margot Robbie didn't arrive wearing the most elegant dress in this custom Giorgio Armani Privé piece. But I couldn't help but put her on my best-dressed list because of the playfulness she brought to the red carpet when she dressed Barbie dolls.
In this Barbie number, Margot Channel 1977 Barbie Superstar. Are you getting lame? Of course! But who else could pull this off?

Best Dressed: Amanda Seyfried in custom Giorgio Armani Prive
Such a regal look has a punk element to Amanda Seyfried's custom Giorgio Armani Prive black velvet dress. The studded bow detail at the neckline, beautifully draped skirt, and punk rock purple eyes make this the perfect piece of the night.

Worst dressed: Jennifer Lawrence in Dior couture and Tiffany jewelry.
It's not that JLaw looks the worst. Sometimes it's very easy to end up on the worst dressed list. That dress is of no use to a starlet. This is one of them.
The bodice of this velvet dress from Dior Haute Couture has an odd fit, and the drape of the skirt doesn't help at all. Then there's the hair that's flopped to one side, which is in such bad shape that it's unpleasant.
Even Jennifer's Tiffany jewelry can't make up for this missed chance at a Golden Globe knockout.

Reese Witherspoon is rarely wrong, so I wasn't surprised to see her make my best-dressed list again. Witherspoon in this velvet Monique Lhuillier dress transports us back to her early '80s with delicate touches of pink, effortless hair, and royal diamond jewelry worthy of her collection. Masu.
Having a no-fuss attitude when it comes to clothing goes a long way.

This look proves that no matter how custom and bespoke the ensemble, a knotted bath towel is still just a knotted bath towel. Six-year-old me could have designed this, and I could have installed it better.
