10 Dead, 7 Injured As Gunmen Open Fire At Mexico Bar

Mexico City:

Gunmen attacked a bar in the central Mexican city of Querétaro on Saturday, killing 10 people, local security officials said. The attackers opened fire inside the Los Cantaritos bar in the city's historic center, Queretaro public security director Juan Luis Felsca said.

“Emergency services arrived at the scene and confirmed that at least four individuals armed with long weapons arrived in a pickup truck,” he said in a video posted on social media.

“Ten people are reported to have been killed and at least seven injured inside,” it added.

One suspect was taken into custody and the vehicle used in the attack was found abandoned and set on fire, Felska said.

Querétaro is considered one of Mexico's safest cities, and since 2006 has seen a rise in drug trafficking and gang-related violence that have killed more than 450,000 people.
