New Delhi:

Kfir Bibas was nine months old when he was captured by Hamas operatives from his home in Israel on October 7. His mother and 4-year-old brother were also taken hostage in the surprise attack. Yesterday, Hamas announced that all three were killed in Gaza, while the Israeli military said it was investigating the claim.

The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that it was “evaluating the accuracy of the information.”

It added: “Hamas is solely responsible for the safety of all hostages in the Gaza Strip.” “Hamas’ actions continue to put hostages, including nine children, at risk.”

Hamas claims that Kfir, his brother Ariel, and mother Shiri were killed in an Israeli bombing just days before the current cease-fire took effect.

The Bivas family was one of the most high-profile hostages taken in the Oct. 7 Hamas attack in southern Israel because of the age of baby Kfir. .

Footage of a baby being kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz in southern Israel has become one of the symbols of the deadly attack on Gaza. Images showed the mother, her face contorted in pain, cradling two small red-haired boys wrapped in a blanket.

Their father was taken by armed Hamas militants towards the Gaza Strip and was photographed with his head covered in blood.

According to a statement from the Hostages and Missing Persons Families Forum, the family later acknowledged that they were aware of Hamas’s latest claims and could only wait for further information.

“We are awaiting confirmation of the information and, if possible, a rebuttal from the military authorities. We thank the Israeli people for their warm support, but ask for privacy during this difficult time,” they said. Stated.
