Kfir Bibas was nine months old when he was captured by Hamas operatives from his home in Israel on October 7. His mother and 4-year-old brother were also taken hostage in the surprise attack. Yesterday, Hamas announced that all three were killed in Gaza, while the Israeli military said it was investigating the claim.

The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement that it was “evaluating the accuracy of the information.”

It added: “Hamas is solely responsible for the safety of all hostages in the Gaza Strip.” “Hamas’ actions continue to put hostages, including nine children, at risk.”

Hamas claims that Kfir, his brother Ariel, and mother Shiri were killed in an Israeli bombing just days before the current cease-fire took effect.

The Bivas family was one of the most high-profile hostages taken in the Oct. 7 Hamas attack in southern Israel because of the age of baby Kfir. .
