A teenager was slashed multiple times with a butter knife on a Manhattan street Tuesday night, sending a 10-year-old boy to the hospital, police and officials said.
Police and law enforcement sources said the young victim and a 15-year-old boy got into a fight at the corner of West 33rd Street and Sixth Avenue around 6:40 p.m.
Sources say the boy allegedly brandished a butter knife and slashed the 10-year-old girl all over her body.
Police said the boy suffered a stab wound to the abdomen and was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
The suspect was taken into custody, according to the New York Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing.
