Last week, WazirX suffered a major security breach involving transaction misuse, resulting in the theft of $250 million worth of cryptocurrency by anonymous hackers. The hack of India’s largest cryptocurrency exchange caused widespread concern in the community, as the compromised addresses were actively exchanging various digital assets for Ethereum (ETH), creating significant selling pressure on the affected tokens.

Among the notable transactions was the withdrawal of 5.4 trillion Shiba Inu (SHIB) worth $102.13 million. This massive SHIB sale contributed to the token’s price dropping by nearly 8% at one point.

today, Spot on Chain The WazirX exploiter reportedly moved 16,345 ETH, worth approximately $56.88 million, to two new wallets, “0x58d” and “0x668,” and still holds 43,962 ETH, worth approximately $153 million, in various wallets.

Additionally, exploiters continue to sell assets such as CTSI, PUSH, REEF, and REN in exchange for more ETH.

At the same time, WazirX is actively working to address the breach and recover the stolen funds, with the exchange mobilizing a number of on-chain investigators and analysts to try to identify the hackers.

To encourage help, WazirX is offering a bounty of up to $23 million to those who help recover the stolen assets. The exchange is calling on white hat hackers, blockchain forensic experts, and cybersecurity professionals from around the world to join the bounty hunt.
