North Carolina’s size advantage, especially Bacot’s dominant presence inside, poses a major threat in this matchup. Michigan State’s reliance on perimeter players makes it vulnerable to Bacot’s ability. Additionally, Michigan State’s Carson Cooper lacks the athleticism and talent to effectively battle Bacot.
Considering the Spartans’ struggles in the paint against Mississippi State and the scary matchup between Tyson Walker and RJ Davis, it’s clear that UNC has the edge in terms of talent. For those reasons, the current line appears to be underestimating UNC’s chances of reaching the Sweet 16.
