“1000 Pounds. Sisters” star Tammy Slaton has shared another big update on her weight loss journey.
clip Posted on TLC's Instagram On Wednesday, the reality star stepped on the scale and was shown to weigh 281.2 pounds.
“I think my last weight was 281.” [pounds]I was in fourth or fifth grade,'' she shared, adding that she now weighs less than her older brother Chris Combs.
“Chris said he weighs 284.'' [pounds]. My current weight is a little lighter than Chris. It's amazing,” Slaton, 38, continued. “I'm a baby sister, but I'm no longer a 'big' baby sister.”
Slaton said she weighed 303 pounds when she went to the doctor, but lost about 20 pounds in three months.
Combs admitted in a confessional that she never thought her sister was smaller than her, saying, “She's always been Tammy. She's big.”
The TLC star has been documenting her weight loss adventures on the reality series since 2020, when she weighed around 725 pounds.
Doctors told Slaton she needed to lose some weight to undergo bariatric surgery, and she lost 200 pounds within two years.
After undergoing surgery in 2022, Slaton said she lost about 300 pounds the following year and 440 pounds by April 2024.
Slaton's dramatic weight loss forced him to give up his oxygen tank and walker. Used for 15 years.
“I've been able to strengthen my lungs…and recently my doctor cleared me not to use my oxygen machine during the day,” she told People in June 2023.
“Now I only wear oxygen at night along with BiPap. [bilevel positive airway pressure] machine. I monitor my oxygen levels throughout the day and keep the machine on hand in case I need it. ”
Aside from exercise, Slaton is exploring invasive weight loss treatments and hopes to undergo skin excision surgery.
per clip Posted on TLC's Instagram On Thursday's next episode, Slaton will be told by her doctor that she will have to wait another year before having weight loss surgery because she only recently had it.
Doctors advised Slaton to continue losing weight until he was eligible for surgery.
