A recent memo from the Justice Department aimed at debunking conspiracy theories surrounding Jeffrey Epstein has created a divide among influencers within the MAGA community.
The memo concluded that there was no proof of Epstein keeping a “client list” or threatening high-profile individuals. It also stated that Epstein died by suicide in prison. However, some right-wing figures suspect he may have been murdered to protect hidden secrets.
This revelation has resulted in disappointment among many right-leaning online activists who sought to expose the extensive conspiracy linked to investors and convicted sex traffickers.
Interestingly, Democrats have fanned the flames of discord among the MAGA supporters, pushing them to call for Congressional votes to uncover more details regarding convicted sex offenders.
Eleven individuals have emerged as central figures in this emerging dialogue.
Steve Bannon
The former White House adviser expressed concern that the Epstein saga poses a significant threat to the MAGA movement, suggesting that the GOP could potentially lose up to 40 seats in the mid-2026 elections.
“We’re losing about 10% of the MAGA base. If that continues, we might really struggle in 2026,” he noted during the War Room podcast. He also warned that if trends don’t change, “we risk losing the presidency in 2028.”
Bannon refrained from directly blaming Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi, or FBI officials but criticized the “deep state” for hindering efforts aimed at transparency. He urged Trump to consider appointing a special advisor to investigate Epstein’s documentation.
“In the broader context, it’s clear how the deep state seems to interfere with the Trump and MAGA movement, and this ties into Epstein’s circumstances,” he said during the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit.
Charlie Kirk
A prominent conservative figure, Kirk, has directed his followers to shift focus from the Epstein files. “I’ve talked about Epstein for a while now, and I trust my contacts in the administration to manage it,” he stated during a recent show.
Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Trump had reached out to Kirk, possibly to quell internal criticism of how the administration handles Epstein-related matters.
Yet, many young conservatives within Kirk’s circle remain skeptical of trusting the Trump administration. Attendees at a recent summit expressed a desire for more clarity regarding the files.
“There were plenty of discussions on this topic last weekend, so I don’t want to take more precious time on it,” Kirk added.
Laura Rumer
A vocal far-right influencer, Rumer has been a strong critic of Bondi, often referring to her dismissively. She has also called for the appointment of special investigators regarding the handling of government documents.
“Bondi is undermining Trump’s administration by withholding information and publicly misleading supporters,” she posted on social media.
Despite her criticisms, Trump had previously supported Bondi, recently praising her efforts as attorney general.
Tucker Carlson
Carlson has taken a distinct perspective, suggesting that Epstein may have been connected to intelligence operations from Israel. “The possibility that intelligence agencies are deeply involved in this situation is an angle worth exploring,” he mentioned during a podcast.
Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett rejected Carlson’s claims, calling them utterly false on social media.
Megan Kelly
Kelly, a former Fox News anchor, took Bondi to task for not setting realistic expectations about the release of the Epstein files and did not shy away from insinuating that shady investors could be linked to foreign intelligence.
“She continually goes on media to raise expectations that she can’t fulfill,” Kelly commented during her segment.
Attorney General Pam Bondy
Much of the frustration from MAGA supporters has been directed at Bondi, especially after her comments suggesting she has a “client list” related to Epstein on her desk for review.
Following the DOJ memo’s release, she clarified that what she referred to was not a literal client list but a case file regarding Epstein.
Earlier, Bondi raised eyebrows when she mentioned the FBI was reviewing numerous videos involving Epstein and minors.
Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino
Bongino reportedly distanced himself from work after clashing with Bondi over her statements about Epstein.
He has also suggested that Epstein might have visual evidence implicating various political figures, both Democratic and Republican.
Recently, Trump expressed his support for Bongino, implying a longstanding relationship.
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Ill.)
Khanna is among the Democrats pushing for more transparency related to Epstein, attempting to force a vote to release related records. Their effort was unsuccessful in committee.
“We won’t stop pursuing the release of these files,” Khanna asserted, emphasizing that the public deserves clarity.
Elon Musk
Musk found himself mentioned in a DOJ memo while he announced plans for a new political party, claiming that the president was linked to the Epstein files.
He stated that ensuring accountability regarding Epstein should be a priority for his “American Party.”
Alan Dershowitz
Dershowitz, a former lawyer for Epstein, asserted that the judiciary is the one suppressing relevant information—not the Trump administration.
He claimed that while there are names involved, they should remain confidential.
President Trump
Trump acknowledged having socialized with Epstein in the past but indicated that they had ceased contact long before Epstein’s conviction.
He reiterated his call for transparency regarding Epstein’s death and defended Bondi, again praising her performance.
The White House has dismissed claims of internal strife, stating that such narratives distract from meaningful progress in public safety and justice.
