Delinquency Found in Attack Case of 5-Year-Old Girl
A young girl in Cleveland, Ohio, has been found delinquent on nine charges, including attempted murder and rape, following a disturbing incident involving a 5-year-old victim.
This case follows another where a 10-year-old boy admitted his guilt concerning attempted rape and felonious assault during the same attack.
During court proceedings, the 11-year-old suspect, referred to as M.H., faced the judge, who ruled on the charges similar to an adult conviction but recognized her status as a minor.
The incident in question happened on September 13, 2025, in a field located near E. 148th Street and St. Clair Avenue, according to reports from the Cleveland police.
The victim, who has since testified, shared distressing details about the attack, indicating that her clothing was stripped away and she was allegedly choked with her own shirt.
Antavia Kennibrew, the mother of the victim, provided testimony in court. Her daughter received extensive medical treatment after the incident and, Kennibrew explained, exhibited severe changes in behavior post-attack.
“She kept mentioning that she no longer felt pretty,” Kennibrew stated. “Moreover, she often said that Earth was a bad place.”
Kennibrew previously noted that her child appeared “unrecognizable” following the attack. “The scene was unbelievable,” she recalled. “Her hair was literally ripped from her scalp, along with extensive bruising and blood marring her body. It was horrifying.”
The judge’s ruling on M.H.’s delinquency was met with relief by Kennibrew, who felt that her cries for justice had been heard. “I felt very exposed—telling everyone what had happened to my baby, praying for help,” she commented, expressing gratitude for the court’s decision.
She expressed a desire for M.H. to receive the maximum sentence possible. “I want her to comprehend the weight of her actions,” Kennibrew urged. “This shouldn’t be something she can forget easily.”
