Police say at least 12 people were injured in a shooting at a rooftop party in Wisconsin’s state capital.

At about 12:45 a.m. Sunday, more than 25 people were gathered at a party on the rooftop of a high-rise apartment building in downtown Madison.

Police initially said 10 people were injured, including nine who were shot and one who was wounded by broken glass. Police Chief Shawn Barnes said at a news conference Monday that two more people reported injuries. Ten people suffered gunshot or graze wounds, one person was wounded by broken glass and one person was injured in the shoulder while trying to flee the party, Barnes said. At least two people remained hospitalized as of Monday morning, the chief said.

Barnes said no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting and a motive is unclear. Detectives were still investigating Monday to try to determine who was throwing the party and why, he said.
