- Tonight marks the first (and likely only) debate between Harris and Trump.
- Democrats have a lot more at stake in tonight's debate and they're feeling the pressure.
-
SpaceX launched four private citizens into orbit this morning.

How are you all feeling tonight? :

Tonight, Vice President HarrisOriginal President Trump .
Hills Alexander BoltonDemocrats have reportedly privately acknowledged their anxiety about tonight's election because Harris has more at stake than Trump.
^ Why this survey?: a New York Times/Siena College Poll The survey found that 90 percent of voters said they knew everything there was to know about Trump, while only 71 percent said they knew everything there was to know about Harris.
Looking back at 2020 — remember the fly on Pence? Bolton said Harris' final debate was with her predecessor. vice president Mike Pence2020. While her performance was great, the most memorable thing about the night was the fly on Pence's head.

So what's Plan B? Plan C? Maybe even Plan G? :
|
speaker Mike Johnson(Louisiana Republican) is pushing ahead with a partisan plan to fund the government despite overwhelming opposition that is already causing it to fail.
Key Points of the PlanThe bill would provide six months of funding for the government and include a measure to require proof of citizenship to vote, a measure supported by Trump.
Expected to failAt least six House Republicans have said they will vote no. Republicans would only be able to cast four no votes, even if all were present and all Democrats voted no.
Are politics changing Johnson's position? Not yet, as Johnson is sticking to the proposal, which is backed by President Trump.

This complaint feels like humble brag to me. :

The Washington Post Dan Diamond andCleve R. Wootson Jr.“Kamala Harris ran her office like a prosecutor. Not everyone liked it..”
Read this excerpt:
“Some of Harris' early staff were taken aback by her prosecutorial leadership style, former staffers said. She would ask pointed questions about footnotes in reports or why certain items were added to her schedule. 'She reads every document, annotates it and is ready to discuss it, so it's stressful to brief her,” one former staffer said. 'You can't just come to the vice president and ask him to do something,' another said. 'There has to be a reason.'”
“This behavior also manifests in other situations, such as when someone gives her a compliment,” the staffer continued. “She turns to them and says, 'Why?', leaving them confused.” 🤔
Former White House press secretary and MSNBC host Jen Psaki posted the excerpt,Commented“I've worked for two presidents and I've briefed two presidents. We don't want a president sitting in the Oval Office that doesn't demand exactly this. It's your job, literally, to be prepared for that.”

“SpaceX launched four private citizens into orbit early Tuesday morning, an ambitious flight that aims to venture further into space than most astronauts have ever flown except for the 24 Apollo astronauts who went to the Moon.”
plus“The daring flight, called Polaris Dawn, will also feature the first-ever spacewalk by a private citizen, but he will not leave the capsule.” The Hill)
