Iran attacked Israel on Saturday with a swarm of drones and missiles.
A swarm of drones and missiles launched by Iran into Israeli territory on Saturday has now reached its target, with explosions reported across Israel.
Video footage shows Israeli Iron Dome and other air defense systems intercepting Iranian drones across the country. Explosions have been reported in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa and dozens of other Israeli settlements, less than three hours after the Iranian government launched a series of Shahid suicide drones. Although it took some time for the drone to reach Israel, Iran and its proxies timed their missile launches to coincide with the drone’s arrival.
Drone interceptions were also reported over the Jordanian capital Amman.
In response, the House of Representatives passed a resolution affirming U.S. support for Israel and condemning the Iranian airstrike.
Thirteen Democrats and one Republican voted against the motion.
On Thursday, more than a dozen House Democrats voted against a resolution condemning Iran’s airstrikes on Israel.
The resolution, which also affirms U.S. support for Israel in response to attacks deemed necessary, passed by an overwhelming vote of 404-14. Only one House Republican, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), voted against the bill. Fox News Digital has reached out to Massey for comment.
He was joined by 13 Democrats, including Squad member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York. Rashida Tlaib, Michigan; Cori Bush, Missouri; Ilhan Omar, Democrat, Minnesota. By Jamaal Bowman, D.Y. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., and Congressional Progressive Caucus Chairwoman Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., were among those who opposed the bill.
House Minority Leader Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), the No. 3 Republican in the House, harshly criticized Democrats who voted against condemning Iran in a statement to Fox News Digital after the vote.
“House Democrats’ hatred of Israel runs so deep that they would rather defend terrorists than support our most powerful ally in the Middle East. With vote after vote, Democrats continue to solidify their position as the party supporting terrorism.” “We’re working hard,” Emmer said.
