Thirteen people were taken to the hospital after two boats collided off the coast of Port Miami on Sunday, officials said.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived at the crash scene just after 3:15 p.m., WSVN-TV reported.
“We received a report that two ships collided in Fisherman’s Harbor.” [Channel]” said Horacio Rodríguez, head of the MDFR department, at a press conference.
Fire officials said the Thriller tour boat collided with what appeared to be a civilian vessel.

At least one of the 13 people taken to hospital was airlifted. The extent of the injuries sustained by those in hospital has not been disclosed, but they are expected to recover.
“There were other people on the boat. It was a tour boat from Bayside. The patients who had no complaints were taken back to Bayside,” Rodriguez said.

Miami Fire and Rescue, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the U.S. Coast Guard also responded to the scene.
The tourist boat was spotted in Bayside by WSVN, where footage was taken of Fish and Wildlife Service investigators trying to determine how it crashed.

According to the Thriller Miami Speedboat Adventures website, tours are suitable for ages 3 and up, last 45 minutes, and start at $45. The tour is said to be a “Miami Vice-style” tour that can offer patrons “an offshore experience that covers three times the Miami area compared to other tour ships.”
