At least 13 people have died in northern Haiti after two days of heavy rain, officials said.
Most of the deaths were caused by a landslide in the southeastern coastal city of Cap-Haitien, the Haitian Civil Protection Agency said in a statement Thursday.

Officials said more than 2,200 homes were flooded and livestock washed into the Au Cap River suffered extensive damage.

Crews are clearing snow from roads across northern Haiti, with more rain expected in the coming days.

Heavy rains were also reported in neighboring Puerto Rico, forcing at least a dozen flights scheduled to land in the capital San Juan to be rerouted to destinations such as the Dominican Republic, officials said Friday.
Widespread flooding was also reported in U.S. territories.
