A 13-year-old boy was killed and a teenager was seriously injured in separate subway surfing accidents in the Bronx early Friday morning, the latest casualties of this nasty trend, police and officials said.
Police and officials said the teenager fell from a northbound 6 train just before 9 a.m. between the Westchester Square and Middletown Road stations in Pelham.
He was found unconscious and unresponsive in the street beneath an overpass.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hours earlier, a 15-year-old boy was seriously injured while riding on top of another northbound No. 6 train at the Morris Avenue-Soundview station in Soundview, police said.

Police said the 15-year-old boy was taken to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition.
The two incidents come just days after a 14-year-old boy was seriously injured while subway surfing in Queens.
Police say the reckless teen was riding a southbound No. 7 train on Sunday when he struck his head on a beam as the train arrived at the 111th Street station just before 4:30 p.m.
Police said the boy was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.
Subway surfing has emerged as a dangerous trend with young thrill-seekers filming themselves doing it and posting the videos on social media.
According to MTA statistics, there were 450 reports of people riding outside or on trains in the first six months of 2023. That’s a significant increase from the 262 reported during the same period in 2019.
