Incident in Queens Injures Two Teenagers
On Thursday, two teenage boys were injured in a violent incident in Queens, with both suffering significant injuries to their hands, as reported by the NYPD.
In Elmhurst, a 14-year-old was repeatedly stabbed during an after-school scuffle related to his birthday, which occurred outside a restaurant located near Broadway and Queens Boulevard.
Witness Zarmai described the scene, stating, “I saw two kids running across the street. One kept chasing the other, and at the corner, he was stabbing him. He just kept running, and he was bleeding. I helped him.”
It was revealed that the victim was celebrating his birthday on the same day as the incident.
Zarmai noted that he observed a boy in a school uniform conducting three stabbing motions.
Surveillance footage from the restaurant captured the injured boy clutching his left hand.
The video showed him being escorted to an ambulance, prompting a crowd of other young people to gather around the restaurant and their injured peers.
“Someone mentioned it was related to a girl,” Zarmai speculated.
In a separate incident in Queens, a 13-year-old boy sustained a gunshot wound to his right hand outside the Ocean Bay apartments in Rockaway.
He was transported to the Jewish Medical Center on Long Island and is currently in stable condition.
While one person is in custody regarding the Elmhurst stabbing, the NYPD reported no formal arrests or charges yet. The investigation is ongoing.
