(WHTM) — Approximately 15.5 million Toshiba laptop AC adapters are being recalled by Dynabook Americas due to fire and burn hazards, according to. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recalled AC adapters were sold individually and with Toshiba-branded personal laptop computers. These can be identified by date codes ranging from April 2008 to December 2012. This is displayed in two different date formats: year/month (0804 for April 2008), or year/week date format (0804 for week 15 of 2008). 0815).

The adapter is black with the model number, serial number, and date code printed on the rating label. Affected models and their serial numbers and date codes can be found below.
CSPC urges consumers to immediately stop using recalled AC adapters that may overheat or catch fire, and contact Dynabook Americas for a free replacement.
Consumers can check online If your AC adapter is subject to a recall, review instructions on how to order a replacement.
According to CSPC, there have been 679 reports of recalled AC adapters overheating or igniting, melting or burning. Of these, there were 43 reports of minor burns.
