15-year-old boy in critical condition following shooting outside New York City building

Teenager Shot Multiple Times in Harlem

A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition following a shooting outside a public housing complex in Harlem, according to law enforcement officials.

The incident occurred around 2:10 PM on Fifth Avenue near the King Towers, marking yet another alarming episode of violence involving young people in New York City, not too far from Central Park.

The victim sustained several gunshot wounds and was quickly transported to Sinai Morningside Mount Hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

As of Monday night, no arrests had been made, and police are still searching for the suspect involved in this troubling case.

This shooting is part of a disturbing trend of violence affecting children and teens across the city. Just a day prior, a 7-year-old was shot in the Bronx, although it’s unclear if the injury was accidental or the result of a reckless handling of a weapon.

Moreover, last week, 16-year-old Evett Jeffrey was tragically killed while simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time during a gang-related shootout near a schoolyard in the Bronx. Following that incident, two teenagers were arrested for the senseless violence.

The day after Jeffrey’s death, another child—an 11-year-old—was injured when gunfire shattered the windows of a car, leading to cuts from the broken glass. In a separate incident, a 20-year-old driver was shot in the shoulder while behind the wheel with the young passenger.
