15-year-old boy killed, another teen injured in possible gang-related NYC shooting

A 15-year-old boy was killed in a possible gang-related shooting in the Bronx on Friday night, police and sources said. Hours earlier, another teenager was killed in a stabbing in East Harlem.

The violence began outside 1491 McCombs Road. Police said shots rang out in Mount Eden just before 5 p.m.

Two teens were struck by gunfire in what investigators believe was a possible targeted, gang-related shooting, officials said.

Police said the 15-year-old boy was struck in the chest and taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Another boy, 17, was shot in the abdomen and remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Officials said three people fled the scene and one person of interest was taken into custody.

Less than an hour and a half later, three people were stabbed near East 108th Street and Second Avenue in East Harlem, including 17-year-old Carlos Rivas, the NYPD said.

Rivas suffered stab wounds to his chest and lower abdomen. The man was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he died, police said.

Two men, aged 62 and 22, also suffered cuts in the stabbings. They were hospitalized in stable condition.

There were no arrests by late Friday.
