Fifteen-year-old Miles Russell will make his PGA Tour debut at the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club in Michigan, starting June 27.
Russell was labeled a phenom earlier this year when he competed on the Korn Ferry Tour as the youngest player ever to do so.
Later this month, he’ll get a chance to see how his game holds up against the best golfers in the world.

Russell is one of four sponsor exemptions for the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
“I’m grateful to Rocket Mortgage for the opportunity to make my PGA TOUR debut at the Rocket Mortgage Classic,” Russell said in a statement. “Ever since I started playing golf, it’s been my dream to compete on the PGA TOUR and test myself against the best, and I’m looking forward to making the most of the experience later this month.”
“The Rocket Mortgage Classic is known as the tournament where future stars get their start, and we’re thrilled that Miles will be making his PGA TOUR debut and joining that legend,” added tournament executive director Jason Langwell. “He’s accomplished a lot at a young age and has proven he deserves to be in this tournament. We can’t wait to see Miles compete against the best golfers in the world at Detroit Golf Club.”

Russell finished tied for 20th at the LECOM Suncoast Classic in April, becoming the first player to finish inside the top 25 on both tours since records began in 1983.
When Russell shot a five-under 66 in the final round, including seven birdies in 10 holes, the entire tournament crowd cheered him on.

Russell made history over the weekend, breaking the record that had previously been held by 16-year-old Gripper Finau, brother of Tony Finau.
Russell’s golf career already features some great names, especially considering he was named the United States Junior Golf Association’s Player of the Year at just 15 years old.
Who else has done it? Tiger Woods.
So to say Russell’s future in golf is bright would be an understatement, but his latest challenge will be the toughest he has faced so far at his young age. But as Woods has shown, it doesn’t matter how young you are.
