Police say the 15-year-old called officers and immediately shot his mother and sister multiple times, then called officers and said he was trying to kill someone.
Police in Houston, Texas said the suspect took marijuana edibles with another teenager and an adult on Saturday night, starting to suffer physical problems and called an ambulance in panic.
He then grabbed the gun as the other two began laughing at him and called the police officer threatening to kill himself or someone else. ABC 13 reported.
When the dispatcher called, the boy's mom replied and said he had no idea what was going on with his son.
The first responders still competed at home. He then discovered that the boy's mother and 17-year-old sister were both troubled by bullets.
Members of the Houston fire department found teenagers in the parking lot. There he pointed his gun at his first counterpart and told him he had just killed someone, officials alleged.
He eventually threw his gun at him and tried to escape.
The defendant's shooter is expected to be taken to hospital for observation and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and family attack, officers said.
“I think the 15-year-old suspect just had a lot of food and had a bad reaction to them,” said Li, a member of the Houston police force.
The boy was not identified due to his age. It was not immediately clear how he got the food, and officials did not identify the pair he had them.

The other 16-year-old shooter's sister was at home at the time of the shooting, but was unharmed.
The family neighbors were unwilling to learn what had happened.
“It's nearby, so it sends waves to your body,” says the mother of two Margaret Smiths, who live across the street. I told Khoushe was able to stop the defendant's gunman before more people were injured, saying she was a thankful police officer. Fortunately, he said he was able to stop the teens before police could do any more harm to others and themselves.
“It could have happened to anyone, he could have walked outside and did anything to someone,” she said.
“I'm glad that wasn't. I feel it to my family, my mom and my sister, but that's some lessons you have to learn. Now he has to learn the hard way. And that's sad,” Smith added.
