17,700 Palestinians Killed After Israeli Attacks, Says Gaza Health Ministry

At least 17,700 Palestinians have been killed and 48,780 injured in Israeli attacks in Gaza since October 7, the Gaza Health Ministry said on Saturday.

Ashraf al-Khidra, a spokesman for the Hamas-run ministry, said two paramedics were injured in recent hours when Israeli forces targeted an ambulance attempting to evacuate injured patients from Gaza's European Hospital.

He condemned what he called Israel's war on hospitals, ambulances and medical teams.

Israel claims Hamas operates inside hospitals and has released footage to back up its claims, and has also targeted ambulances it says are used by Hamas in the past. Hamas denied this.

On October 7, Israeli forces carried out air and ground strikes against Hamas in the Gaza Strip following cross-border violence by the ruling group.
