In Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson’s Chicago, 18 people were shot over the weekend, four of them fatally.
ABC7/ Chicago Sun-Times report The first fatal shooting of the weekend occurred “at approximately 6:45 p.m. in West Garfield Park.” The victim, 45-year-old Sean Bailey, was shot in the head.
On Saturday, a 38-year-old man was shot in the chest and killed in a parking lot “near 75th and Stony Island.” A second man, 23, was also shot and seriously injured in the same incident.
The third shooting of the weekend occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday when a 27-year-old man was shot and killed in the “5200 block of South Central Avenue near 52nd Street.”
The 27-year-old man was taken to the hospital, where he died.
The fourth shooting this weekend occurred at 1:23 p.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of North Kimball Avenue. A 25-year-old man was sitting on his front porch when two men approached him and opened fire, firing five shots.
The 25-year-old man later died in hospital.
Breitbart News reported that 13 armed robberies occurred in Chicago over an eight-hour period on Saturday.
