Long Island Bride’s Wedding Dress Ruined by Cleaning Company

A bride from Long Island, Danielle Sacco, has reportedly faced a nightmare regarding her $18,000 wedding dress after a high-end cleaning company in Midtown allegedly damaged it.

After a lengthy six-month search, Sacco was thrilled when she found her dream Pnina Tornai gown at Kleinfeld Bridal, a shop renowned for its selection of stunning bridal wear. “I just knew it was the one,” she shared in a statement.

Feeling like a princess at her October 2024 wedding to Nassau County police officer Matthew Sacco, she wanted to ensure the dress remained in perfect condition afterward. Sacco opted for the services of Madame Paulette ByNext, a cleaning service that came highly recommended by a friend.

She paid about $1,800 for what was promised to be preservation services. Their website boasts about restoring gowns to their original beauty and ensuring lasting integrity.

Unfortunately, Sacco’s experience took a turn for the worse, as she claimed in a lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court. “Instead of helping, they destroyed my wedding dress,” she alleged in her court documents.

Damage was reportedly found near the hem of the dress, caused, according to her, by placing it in a box that was too small, which subsequently harmed the fabric. Her attorney, Zachary Zane, remarked, “She’s devastated. All her efforts to preserve the dress were for nothing. Everything is torn to shreds.”

This isn’t an isolated incident; previous complaints have surfaced against the same cleaning service. Influencer Claudia Lee Johnson recently accused Madame Paulette of misplacing her custom Vera Wang dress, which was later found after an investigation into numerous claims about lost luxury items, including a pricey Fendi coat.

Online reviews tell a similar story, with various customers voicing their dissatisfaction. “If you’re a bride, stay away. Just run,” commented one man who had difficulty retrieving his wife’s dress. Another shared a similar tale, stating that their hand-trimmed table linens were returned in pieces, resembling “strips of cloth hanging like a stage prop.”

While the cleaners expressed apologies for the negative feedback, they continued insisting they had no record of the tablecloth incident.
