Three companies own 19,000 homes in metro Atlanta.
“A recent study by Georgia State University researchers found that three companies own more than 19,000 homes in Atlanta’s five metropolitan areas,” Atlanta’s WSB-TV report.
The study found that “Invitation Homes, Premium Partners (which operates Progress Residential), and Amherst Holdings (which operates Main Street Renewal) own approximately 11 percent of all rental single-family homes in the state.” It has been found.
“In small areas, that percentage can exceed 50 percent,” says GSU Professor Taylor Shelton. “Just 10 years ago, these companies didn’t even exist.”
“The homes that most of these companies are buying are exactly the types of homes that would have been starter homes 15, 20, 30 years ago,” Shelton added. “Whether you rent or buy, these companies are driving up prices for everyone.”

This is another salvo of the left’s favorite motto. You will own nothing and be happy.
Great reset, baby
Three companies were allowed to swallow 19,000 single-family homes in Atlanta. I’m curious…how many homes are owned by small businesses? According to the video report above, the top 10 companies cleaning these properties are responsible for cleaning 30,000 single-family homes in Atlanta. owns.
Listen, Yew…
The key to independence, security, prosperity, and freedom is owning your own home. For most of us, there is no other way forward. You bought a house, paid for it, and now you’re getting a little something. As long as you can cover your property taxes, you can at least secure a place to live and assets.
For me, this is an easy choice. You can pay off someone else’s mortgage and throw her $2,500 a month into the bottom of your rent bill, or you can spend that $2,500 on your own home, real assets, and future purchases.
For most of us, there is no American dream without homeownership. that’s it. That’s all I got. And now some fascist companies are coming in to suck up all the starter houses. This is especially dangerous in a fascist culture where Democrats staunchly oppose the construction of new single-family homes. So what happens to you? This will only make getting the starter home even more difficult. This is a feature, not a bug.
Additionally, nothing destroys a neighborhood faster than rental properties, which lowers the value of homes and thus makes it easier for fascist companies to scoop them up.
In my small suburb, rental properties were the only thing that broke people’s hearts. Thankfully, those rental homes are now owned by residents, and this has changed everything for the better.
I know that many young people think that renting is better. That way you won’t have to worry about repairs, mowing the lawn, replacing the roof… But these young people also mistakenly believe they will be young forever. What happens in 30 or 40 years if you want to retire and instead of owning your home outright, you end up paying $5,000 a month in rent that you could have spent elsewhere? Or?
Thanks to decades of hard work, my wife and I own a house, a car, a camper, and a few small plots of land across the street, but our lenders and credit card companies have nothing. I haven’t rented it. We will never be rich, but no one will own us. Debt is slavery. You have to get out from under it. The smaller the nuts you have to crack each month, the more freedom you have.
“You can be happy without owning anything” is a modern version of “slavery is freedom” and “war is peace.” You’ll never be happy if you stay in debt forever. Because you can never get off the gerbil wheel and you can’t tell your boss to kiss your ass… and someone can always evict you, raise your rent, or take your sweet time. You can also replace the roof.
Living with that kind of uncertainty and lack of control is different than it is when you’re 30 years old. What happens when you turn 70?
