$2.5M worth of premium Terra Delyssa olive oil stolen from Texas warehouse

A gang of slippery robbers looted $2.5 million worth of high-end olive oil from a Texas warehouse and sold it to a competing store that sold the stolen goods at half price.

CHO America, Manufacturer Terra Delissa Last month, thieves reportedly stole 18 truckloads (29 pallets, each containing 672 bottles) from a third-party warehouse in Houston, according to local news reports.

The warehouse on Navigation Road is reportedly out of business and did not have working surveillance cameras installed at the time of the high-value theft. KHOU reported.

Waji Rekik, owner of CHO America, said: he told Fox 26. He said he believed the theft was a “systematic” attack and was desperate for the public's help in recovering the products.

“He's not a big fan of olive oil, because there's no way he can drink that much olive oil,” Rekik said.

“It's a drinkable olive oil.”

Rekik said she didn't learn about the $2.5 million theft until a few weeks later when she received a call saying her high-quality organic olive oil was not in the correct store.

After receiving the photo, the company used its traceability capabilities and trackable lot number to retrieve one pallet from its Houston store and sell it at a much lower retail price.

This award-winning oil is packaged in dark glass bottles with yellow labels and ranges in price from $15 to $27 per bottle.

“It is very shocking to learn that some stores are now selling our products at half or a quarter of the price,” Rekiku told KHOU.

The company is asking store owners to report any suspicious offers to sell Terra Delissa at unusually low prices.
