Two people were killed when a mobile home exploded in Minnesota early Tuesday morning, with the explosion heard miles away.

Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Deputy Aaron Evenson told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that several 911 calls were made just after 4 a.m. about the explosion in Princeton. The victims were Katherine A. Krager, 61, and her husband, Lois E. Krager Jr., 60.

Property owner Stuart Bryan told the paper he had rented the house to a couple. Brian said he has owned the house for about 15 years and has “never had any problems or issues, just boom.”
The explosion also killed a dog, the sheriff’s office said, adding that the explosion could have been heard 20 miles away.
The cause is under investigation by the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office. Deputies on the scene saw a tank shooting propane into the air, he said.

Princeton is a community of approximately 5,300 people located 80 miles north of Minneapolis.
