2,000 People Embrace Christianity at University of South Florida Event

Reports from the Unite Us Movement’s social media indicate that a recent event inspired around 2,000 people to seek salvation and 300 individuals to get baptized, along with numerous lives transformed. The gathering was held at the Yuengling Center, which is associated with the Bulls basketball and volleyball teams.

“What a night in Tampa! There’s a significant movement happening among Gen Z, and tonight we got a glimpse of it,” the Unite US Instagram page shared. “Thank you, Jesus.”

Unite Us is a revival initiative that organizes worship events on university campuses throughout the nation, with the goal of inspiring spiritual awakening among students in America.

The event at USF was one of seven Unite Us gatherings taking place this fall semester. There’s an upcoming gathering planned at the University of Oklahoma’s Lloyd Noble Center on September 9th, expected to draw around 9,000 students, with additional locations including Tennessee on September 30, Grand Canyon University on October 21, Cincinnati on November 5, North Carolina on November 11, and Clemson on November 18.

“Gen Z Rising. Bold. Shy! I’m eager for revival!” stated Unite Us in a post.

Tonya Prewett, the founder and visionary behind Unite Us, noted that this momentum reflects God’s influence within communities.

“God makes things happen,” she mentioned, referring to Jonathan Pokruda. “He unites churches, cities, communities, students, universities, and, in some sense, he brings the nation together.”

She also commented on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on Gen Z.

“They faced isolation and had only their devices, which led to various addictions,” Prewett observed. “But now, I think they’re beginning to bounce back and realize what’s important.”

“They’re hungry for connection, and that desire is quite contagious. When we bring that energy to each event, the enthusiasm spreads to the next gathering, igniting the campuses.”
