Fashion took center stage at the annual MTV VMAs, held at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on Wednesday.
Taylor Swift attended the music event in a plaid Christian Dior dress, black shorts and matching black boots. She is nominated for 10 awards, closely followed by David with nine. The pair won their first award of the night, Best Collaborator, for their song “Fortnight.”
“I woke up in New York on the morning of September 11th and I was thinking about what happened 23 years ago and all the people who lost loved ones and all the people that we've lost,” Swift said as she accepted the award. “And that's what's most important today, and everything that happens tonight is secondary to that.”
Swift made history at the VMAs when she won Video of the Year, and is now the most awarded musician in VMA history.

Katy Perry showed off her abs in a cream-colored “Who Decides War” tattered top and skirt, and her fiancé Orlando Bloom joined her on the black carpet.
Before accepting his Video Vanguard Award, the Pirates of the Caribbean star invited his future bride onstage to perform for him.
“She loves it with all her heart and it's irresistible,” he said. “Congratulations on this honor, baby. I'm so proud of you.”
