Real fans still remember the glory days.
Just two years ago, the Jacksonville Jaguars seemed like they could really make a playoff run. They clinched a dramatic victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Game, narrowly missing an upset against the Kansas City Chiefs the following week.
Fast forward 24 months—things haven’t gone as smoothly.
In 2023, the team finished with a decent 9-8 record but still missed the playoffs. Last season, however, was a disaster. The Jaguars stumbled to a 2-7 start, and their quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, ended up injured. Backup Mac Jones stepped in but couldn’t turn things around, leading the squad to an unfortunate 4-13 finish.
Still, it’s essential to remember that their playoff success was just a short time ago.
Looking ahead, the team has brought in some new talent. They’re excited about the return of Travis Hunter and the addition of free agents like Jordan Lewis, Eric Murray, Patrick Mecali, Robert Hainesey, and Dyami Brown, along with new head coach Liam Cohen who is eager to build a winning culture. Cohen shared, “Being the Jacksonville Jaguars head coach is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I’m set on establishing a tradition of championships and victory in Duval.”
Now that the schedule for this year is out, fans in Duval are starting to see the potential path to success.
This season’s clashes at Everbank Stadium include facing off against strong opponents like the Houston Texans on September 21, the AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs on October 6, and the Los Angeles Chargers on November 16.
And, there’s also an exciting game abroad! On October 18, the Jaguars will battle the Los Angeles Rams at Wembley Stadium in London, part of the NFL’s international series.
