2026 Grammy nominations revealed — why is Taylor Swift missing?

The Grammy Awards Nominations Are Here

The Grammy Awards season has kicked off. The nominations for the 68th Grammy Awards were shared on Friday morning, with the event set to air on February 1, 2026.

Kendrick Lamar stands out with nine nominations, while Lady Gaga has seven, breaking her previous record of six nominations set back in 2010.

Lamar drew attention with his recent album “GNX,” released in November of last year. Gaga also impressed voters with her March release, “Mayhem.”

Newcomer Leon Thomas snagged six nominations, including Best New Artist. Other artists with six nods include Sabrina Carpenter, Selvan Genia, and Bad Bunny, who is set to perform at the Super Bowl shortly after the Grammys.

Bad Bunny made waves as the first Spanish-language artist to score nominations for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year all in the same year.

Additionally, the Recording Academy recognized Tyler, the Creator and Doechii, both with five nominations, as well as Justin Bieber with four, and Bruno Mars with three. Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez received one nomination each.

Notably, Taylor Swift won’t be in contention for the 2026 Grammy Awards. Her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” came out in October 2025. However, the eligibility window for nominations closed in August 2025, meaning this album will be eligible only for the 2027 Grammys.

The ceremony will take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, though details about the organizer have yet to be revealed.
