At a press conference Monday night, Madison Police Chief Shon Burns said a second-grader called 911 to alert officers to a shooting at Abundant Life Christian School (ALCS).
Breitbart News reported that the shooting occurred shortly before 11 a.m. when officers arrived and found two innocent people dead. The gunman, now identified as a 15-year-old female student, is also deceased.
ALCS is a K-12 school, meaning students of all ages were at the school when the attack occurred.
channel 3000 broadcasted “At 10:57 a.m., a second grade student called 911 to report a shooting at the school,” Burns said at a news conference Monday night.
“Deputies from the Dane County Sheriff's Office were the first to arrive on scene at 11 a.m. The first Madison police officer arrived on scene 24 seconds later at 11:01 a.m. and immediately entered the school,” he said. ” he said. ”
“At 11:05 a.m., officers inside the school alerted the public that the shooter was down and the gun had been recovered,” Burns said.
The assailant is said to have used a handgun.
