3 people charged with selling forged Jason Kelce memorabilia

Three adults have been charged with forgery, theft and other charges in connection with the sale of fake Jason Kelsey autographed memorabilia.

Robert Capone, LeeAnne Blanco, Joseph Parenti and others are accused of forging Kelce's signature on more than 1,100 pieces of memorabilia worth at least $200,000.

The jerseys, mini-helmets, hats, photos, footballs and other items were sold by Capone's Overtime Promotions and Parent's Diamond Legends after being authenticated by Beckett Authentication Services employee Blanco, documents said. .

Kelce himself attended an autograph session on June 11 at the Valley Forge Casino Hotel near Philadelphia, where Kelce played 13 seasons with the Eagles. Blanco took photos of Kelce to make the items seem more authentic.

Police were alerted by a Pennsylvania-based memorabilia company that had contacted Kelsey to sign the items.

“The investigation revealed that Capone, Parenti, and Blanco conspired to create counterfeit autographed sports memorabilia using Blanco's Beckett Authentication Services credentials, which they then marketed as genuine contract merchandise signed by Kelce. ,” the agency said in a press release.

Capone, Blanco, and Parenti are charged with 60 felonies. Capone was released on $100,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 5th.

Kelce is in his first season as a former player after winning a Super Bowl, appearing in seven Pro Bowls and being named first-team All-Pro six times.

This will be the second time in three years that Kelce's former Eagles have appeared in the NFC Championship Game, and the third time since the 2017 season. The Birds won both of those contests, but their recent Super Bowl appearances have been split.

For the Eagles to face either the Kansas City Chiefs or the Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl LIX, they will need to get past the Washington Commanders for the third time this season. Kansas City defeated the Eagles in the Super Bowl two years ago in the first half of back-to-back championships.
