3. Rich, immersive, and full of good vs. evil
Slide 3 of 3
Ring of Power It requires your complete concentration. This isn't a series you can just part-watch while scrolling through your phone. In fact, the series is so immersive that you may find yourself wanting to re-watch an episode or two to catch the intricate details and subtle storytelling nuances you may have missed the first time around. Each scene is rich with visual splendor and narrative depth, making this a show that rewards careful and dedicated viewing.
Thankfully, each episode starts with a recap video to bring you up to speed.
The series continues Tolkien's exploration of the struggle between good and evil. (A devout Catholic, Tolkien played a key role in C.S. Lewis's embrace of Christianity.) The first season depicts a Genesis-like Garden of Eden, followed by the Fall and Redemption.
In one episode of season two, a Middle-earth resident warns a fellow traveler that darkness is threatening the kingdom.
“That road leads to death,” he said, pointing behind him.
In another scene, a man tells another that everyone has done bad things, but that good can overcome evil. “Find forgiveness,” he says.
Ring of Power Although not a strictly Bible-based series, it still offers Christian families a valuable opportunity to discuss faith and spiritual topics.
