3 shot when gunfire erupts outside NYC bar: sources

Three men were shot by an unidentified assailant as they stood outside a Harlem bar early Sunday morning, sending all three to the hospital with bullet holes in their legs.

The victims, ages 46, 21 and 39, were seen crowding outside Just Lorraine Place 2 on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard around 4 a.m. wearing red hats and dark jackets. , police said a man wearing dark pants walked up and fired shots at the group. Officials told the Post.

Officials said one victim was hit in the left thigh and the other was hit in the right thigh.

Both were ultimately taken to New York City Health + Hospitals/Harlem where they were listed in stable condition.

Officials said the third victim, who was shot in the right knee, staggered away from the scene with the help of two friends.

But he eventually collapsed near the corner of Lenox Avenue and West 135th Street and ended up at Mount Sinai Morningside, police said.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening, officials said.

No arrests have been made and police said the investigation is ongoing.

On Sunday morning, workers were sweeping broken glass out of the shattered front door and cleaning up broken furniture inside.

A neighbor who lives above the bar told the Post there is “always a party going on” at the small venue.

“There are drunk and angry people there,” said Jeff, 52.

“I heard a commotion, like people throwing chairs,” he continued, adding that he was woken up by gunshots.

“Then I heard sirens. All the ambulances and police are here. There’s a lot of cops.”

When asked if he was surprised that gunfire erupted at the scene, he said he wasn’t, saying, “People are running wild over there.”

“People are getting drunk and high like crazy and there’s all kinds of nonsense going on,” he said. “It doesn’t matter if it’s a bar or a police station. They’re out of control.”
