NHL superstar Evgeni Malkin's championship ring is reportedly missing after his home was burglarized.
After last Saturday's brutal 5-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators, the night just got worse for Penguins forward Malkin, who reportedly returned home to find the thing he cherished most taken away.
Police in the Pittsburgh suburb of Sewickley Heights responded to a call for assistance in a residential burglary at 8:30 p.m. on the night in question.
Police determined the house belonged to Malkin, who reportedly “came home from the game to find his home burglarized.”
Detectives began an investigation and discovered that three of Malkin's Stanley Cup championship rings had been taken from his home.
These rings represent all three championships Malkin won with the Penguins in 2009 (pictured below). 2016and 2017.

The Penguins released a statement acknowledging that Malkin's home was burglarized, but said details would not be released because the investigation is ongoing.
“We are working closely with local authorities and team security,” the team said. saidaccording to KDKA-TV's Jennifer Borasso.
“Malkin has asked that his privacy be respected during this time and will not comment further on this matter,” the team added.
Thieves have been specifically targeting professional athletes these days, using team schedules to find out when they're not home. The NFL issued a warning after law enforcement officials in Kansas City said the homes of Kansas City Chiefs players Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes were burglarized on consecutive days. Approximately $20,000 was reportedly stolen from Kelce, but the amount stolen from Mahomes is unknown.
“The homes of professional athletes from multiple sports leagues are increasingly the targets of burglaries by organized and skilled groups,” the NFL said in a statement. said With notes. “Law enforcement officials have noted that these groups appear to be exploiting team schedules to target players' homes on game days.”
In December, Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow had his home burglarized during a Monday Night Football game.
Later that month, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott's fiancée reportedly had her belongings stolen while leaving her car unlocked on her way to a Pilates class.
But Allegheny County police said they had no information to suggest that the robbery at Malkin's home was connected to a criminal organization targeting athletes.
