About 30 years ago, 70 percent of Americans described themselves as very patriotic, according to Mike Rowe. Today, that number has fallen to less than 40 percent. But Lowe’s mission is to remind us of the enduring values that define our country — in other words, he wants to show undecided Americans why America is still worth loving.
His new documentary, What to claimwill see Rowe visit Washington, D.C., and highlight lesser-known stories involving famous patriots throughout American history. TBN, Fathom, Impact Productions and mikeroweWORKS are the production companies.
Lowe emphasizes that the film is “not a political film.”“
“I This did not apply to Democrats or Republicans, liberals or conservatives.“ He says. “I made this for ordinary citizens who consider themselves Americans first and foremost — for Americans who understand that this great country was built by imperfect people, and that while we are still a work in progress, we still have much to be proud of.“
