Week 8 of the NFL season is underway, and it’s shaping up to be a challenging one for fantasy football enthusiasts. With six teams on bye, many fantasy managers are left pondering start/sit decisions for their quarterbacks.
Teams on bye this week include the Cardinals, Jaguars, Lions, Rams, Raiders, and Seahawks.
This week, fantasy managers will be facing a tough situation with quarterbacks like Jacoby Brissett, Kyler Murray, Trevor Lawrence, Jared Goff, Matthew Stafford, Geno Smith, and Sam Darnold unavailable.
Notably, Young suffered an ankle injury in Week 7 and will be sidelined for the game against the Bills. Andy Dalton will step in as the starting quarterback, and his performance will determine how things proceed moving forward.
Jaden Daniels, Commander
Daniels tweaked his hamstring during Week 7’s matchup against the Cowboys, but it appears he may have escaped serious injury. We’ll have to wait and see if he can start against the Chiefs on Monday night.
Murray has been out for two weeks due to a midfoot sprain. Given this week’s bye, he’s expected to be back on the field for Monday Night Football versus the Cowboys in Week 9. Though Brissett filled in admirably, the team lost both games.
McCarthy hasn’t played since Week 3 due to an ankle sprain and could return sooner than later. That said, there’s uncertainty about whether Carson Wentz remains the starter, as he hasn’t been performing at his best either. Still, McCarthy might have a shot at playing against the Chargers this Thursday.
Jackson hasn’t played since Week 4 due to a hamstring issue and missed the following two weeks. After a bye in Week 7, he’s projected to return for a home game against the Bears, where they are currently favored by 6.5 points, so things are looking good.
Purdy’s recurring toe injury kept him out for the last three games following his setback in a Week 4 loss to the Jaguars. There’s a possibility he’ll be back for the matchup against the Texans, but the team will likely take precautions to ensure he’s fully recovered, especially since Mac Jones has shown promise in his absence.
