Kentucky Teacher Accused of Inappropriate Conduct with Minor

Authorities have reported that a substitute teacher in Kentucky is facing serious allegations involving inappropriate behavior during a video chat with a minor student. The incident involved the teacher exposing her breasts while on a non-shower video chat, which has raised significant concerns.

Last Tuesday, a minor boy spoke with a detective from the Barren County Sheriff’s Office after claims surfaced that 30-year-old Crystal Sims had engaged in sexual activity with him. They received information regarding the situation, prompting the investigation.

Sims reportedly established contact with students she met while serving as a substitute teacher. This connection was made through Snapchat after the boy requested her as a friend. Soon after their online interactions began, they allegedly began discussing plans to meet for sexual encounters in Cave City, located north of Nashville, Tennessee.

On August 22, the student, whose age hasn’t been definitively confirmed, recorded an initial phone call with Sims. However, he chose not to record a subsequent video chat that was described as confrontational in nature. During the earlier recorded call, the boy can be heard asking if they would meet, according to documents received.

Eventually, the conversation transitioned to video chat, where Sims is alleged to have exposed her breasts while in the shower. This moment has significantly intensified the allegations against her.

After becoming suspicious, the teacher told investigators that she had declined several friend requests on social media from her male students. She acknowledged her presence in the recorded phone call but claimed her intent to meet the student was simply to apologize for some unspecified behavior during class.

While she insisted that no physical interactions took place between her and the student, the inquiry continues. The specific schools where Sims worked as a substitute teacher remain unclear at this time.

Later that same day, she was arrested and charged with using electronic communications to solicit, procure, or promote a child for sexual activity or other prohibited conduct.

Reports indicate that Sims was released the following Monday after posting a $25,000 cash bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
