4 planes collide in 2 separate crashes at Boston Logan Airport

An already hectic holiday travel day was made even more chaotic on Monday when two planes collided just hours apart on the tarmac at Boston Logan International Airport.

In the first crash, an American Airlines jet taxiing to the gate clipped the wing of a Frontier Airlines plane parked at a local ABC affiliate. WCVB reported.

“It was terrible. It was very scary. All of a sudden, 'thud'. It sounded like something had fallen from below,” Frontier passenger Evelyn Pipione told the news station.

A video obtained by Storyful shows the battered wing of a smaller Frontier plane beneath the wing of a larger American plane.

“So you can actually see that the bottom of the wing is broken. So the bigger planes have the wings ending, and our plane is cracked at the bottom,” said Douglas, who shot the footage. Garcia told WCVB.

The American Airlines plane had just arrived from London's Heathrow Airport, and the Frontier flight was scheduled to take off at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

Passengers and crew were removed from both planes to inspect the planes for damage, and a Frontier flight to Texas was canceled just three days before Thanksgiving, the station reported, citing Massport.

No injuries were reported on either plane, Massport said.

Hours later, a JetBlue plane being towed by a vehicle landed in Logan from Nantucket Island and crashed into a Cape Air plane that was waiting for the gate to open, local broadcasters reported.

The Cape Air plane had two pilots and three passengers on board, but the JetBlue plane was empty. The report said no injuries were reported, but both pilots were taken to hospital with extreme caution.

“that [was] There are just red flags everywhere.”Caroline Azid I told the station. “It appears the upper front of the Cape Air plane was crushed. It was a chaotic mess.”

Azid was scheduled to board a flight to Orlando on one of the involved JetBlue planes. Her flight was ultimately delayed for three hours after JetBlue found another plane for the passenger.

The FAA and multiple airlines are investigating the two crashes.
