BERLIN (AP) – German authorities said Friday that four teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of planning an attack on Islamic extremists.
Three of the suspects – two girls aged 15 and 16 and a boy aged 15 – are from different parts of Germany’s most populous state, North Rhine-Westphalia. The Düsseldorf city prosecutor’s office said they were arrested after a court issued a warrant over the Easter weekend.

The fourth suspect, a 16-year-old boy, was arrested in the southwestern state of Baden-Württemberg, German news agency dpa reported.

Prosecutors said in a statement that the three people detained in western Germany declared their readiness to carry out an “Islamist terrorist attack” and are suspected of planning such an attack. He declined to say how far along the plan was, saying he could not provide further details because the suspect was young and the investigation was ongoing.
They are being held on suspicion of declaring readiness to commit murder or manslaughter and preparing acts of serious violence.
