44 percent have favorable view of Taylor Swift after Harris endorsement: Poll

Fewer than half of 2024 presidential voters have a favorable view of pop superstar Taylor Swift, who has endorsed Vice President Harris, according to a New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirer and Siena College survey. vote It was announced on Thursday.

The poll, conducted after Swift endorsed Harris on September 10, found that while 44% of voters have a favorable view of the superstar, 34% of voters nationally have an unfavorable view.

About 22 percent of respondents either didn't say how they felt about the artist or didn't know how they felt — mostly older, male voters, according to the pollsters.

Swift endorsed the Democratic candidate shortly after the ABC News debate between Harris and former President Trump. In an Instagram post, Swift said she was endorsing Harris because “she fights for rights and causes that I believe we need warriors to defend.”

The national survey found that 70% of Democrats have a favorable view of Swift, significantly ahead of only 23% of Republicans.

Among the majority of Republicans who have an unfavorable view of the artist is the Republican candidate, who voiced his distaste for the pop superstar over the weekend, posting on Truth Social: “I hate Taylor Swift!”

In a new Monmouth University poll, more than half of voters, 53%, said they support Swift's efforts to encourage her fans to vote, compared with about 35% who opposed and 12% who were unaware. The number of voters who support her efforts to get out the vote is down 15 percentage points since a similar poll released in February.

The poll, co-authored by The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Siena College, was conducted among 2,437 voters from September 11 to 16, and has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
