Forty-five inmates have chosen to embrace a new beginning with God at the Thomas County Jail in Thomasville, Georgia.
After receiving authorization from Thomas County Sheriff Tim Watkins, Pastor Dr. Kevin Lamb began reaching out to inmates to share the message of God’s love, leading to significant changes, as reported on Friday.
Lamb and Watkins noted that following the gospel message, 109 prisoners prayed for their lives to Jesus Christ, and 45 expressed a desire to be baptized.
“We engage in God’s work each day, and baptizing people in the Lord’s name is part of that,” Sheriff Watkins stated.
The Sheriff’s office posted pictures of the uplifting event, showcasing many inmates undergoing baptism.
“On September 4, 2025, the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office conducted a baptism service for some inmates at the Thomas County Jail,” the agency noted. “We appreciate our sheriff, Colonel Tim Watkins, Col. Jerome Burgess, and Pastor Kevin Lamb for facilitating this.”
Lamb mentioned that the baptisms were conducted by sections, allowing inmates to invite their loved ones to witness this transformative event.
He added, “It’s important for family support to be present and witness this. By making this commitment to God and themselves, they are also pledging to take a new path. I hope this accountability helps them when they leave prison to reintegrate into society.”
Baptisms are held every Thursday, offering anyone who wishes to participate a chance to do so.
Lamb shared a post from the Sheriff’s Office, highlighting his honor in being part of such an initiative.
This follows a recent report by Breitbart News regarding a spiritual revival at the Lare County Detention Center in Hodginville, Kentucky on August 29th.
“Today marks the harvest of seeds sown. The weather was beautiful. These moments prompt us to reflect on our mission here. Our aim is to help bring better citizens back into society.”
