49ers ink Brandon Aiyuk to lucrative 4-year extension; offseason saga comes to an end: reports

The Brandon Aiyuk saga has ended with him remaining with the San Francisco 49ers, having reportedly reached a compromise on the lucrative contract extension he was seeking.

Aiyuk's contract is worth $120 million over four years, according to multiple reports. NFL Network added that Aiyuk received $76 million in guaranteed money.

At one point, Aiyuk requested a trade from the 49ers because he didn't see an immediate agreement being reached with them.

Reports also surfaced that the Pittsburgh Steelers had already reached a deal with the 49ers and all they needed to do was sign Aiyuk to secure an extension.

But his decision to stay with San Francisco proved to be the right decision, as he is now one of the highest-paid receivers in the league with an average annual salary of $30 million.

This is an ongoing story, more to come.
