Brandon Aiyuk’s unpredictable social media presence this offseason has turned him into a controversial figure, not just among San Francisco 49ers fans, but across the entire NFL landscape.
His recent actions have taken this negativity to a new level. He shared a video on July 13th that quickly drew attention.
In this post, Aiyuk is seen feeding two dogs raw chicken, which many would agree isn’t the best choice for their health. Another video shows him providing sardines in oil to the dogs, along with a caption that notes “After training.”
A subsequent clip reveals him offering the dogs oil-soaked paper bowls. One dog begins to lick the bowl, and when Aiyuk tries to give the bowl to the other dog, the first is reluctant to let go.
This series of videos escalates when Aiyuk unexpectedly jabs the first dog in the neck, causing it to pull back. He exclaims, “Watch out! N**** is moving!”
Moments later, he seems to kick the same dog in the head and then tosses the paper bowl towards the ground. The whole incident, captured on video, has prompted a significant backlash on social media.
It’s worth noting that causing unnecessary harm to an animal is illegal everywhere in the U.S. and can lead to serious legal consequences, ranging from misdemeanors to felonies, based on how severe the act is.
This raises questions about whether Aiyuk could face charges for his actions. It’s difficult to see how he could have acted in a way that further jeopardizes his NFL career, but this video seems to do just that.
