Mac Jones Reflects on Victory in Unique Suit
The San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Mac Jones, has expressed gratitude for simply being able to show up for work. After the team’s nail-biting 26-23 overtime win against the Los Angeles Rams, he was asked about his striking two-tone suit during the post-game press conference.
His answer was straightforward: he enjoys wearing suits. With a chuckle, Jones remarked, “I like suits. Like I said last week, I wear a suit because I work, so that’s how I see it. And yeah, they’re cool.”
This season, Jones has certainly been proving himself on the field. The 2021 first-round pick has stepped into the quarterback role for the 49ers, going undefeated as a starter after being thrust into the lineup due to Brock Purdy’s injury. On Thursday night, he showcased his talents by throwing for 342 yards and two touchdowns, all while playing through a noticeable left knee injury.
Jones mentioned, “There’s definitely a lot of stuff going on, but I feel good. I just work on a few things. I was able to play, so that’s what matters. If I can protect myself, it’s my job to be there.” Despite the team’s injury struggles, they hold a 4-1 record in the NFC West.
Unfortunately, Purdy is dealing with a toe injury, while star edge rusher Nick Bosa is out with an ACL injury. Missing from Thursday’s game were several other key players, including tight end George Kittle and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
