49ers Super Bowl 2024 player props guide: Brock Purdy, Brandon Aiyuk

Sunday’s Super Bowl, between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs, will see billions of dollars at stake, from the team winning to the number of points scored.

But sportsbooks will be dealing with more cash flow around props for Super Bowl LVIII than most others.

One Las Vegas bookmaker estimated that for every traditional Super Bowl bet (against the spread, total, and moneyline), seven prop bets are made.

While it’s always interesting to bet on the color of the celebratory Gatorade bath or the length of the national anthem, player props are more popular than ever.

With kickoff just days away, we asked betting experts Sean Trepedi and Tanner McGrath to share their favorite 49ers bets for Super Bowl VV.

Brock Purdy has 12.5+ rushing yards (-108, fan duel)

Purdy is averaging 31 rushing yards per game this postseason, up from 8.9 during the regular season.

He gained 48 yards against the Lions in the NFC title game and 14 yards against the Packers in the divisional round.

The 49ers have been trailing in most of those games, and that could be the case if the defense is weak against the 49ers.

As mentioned here, Purdy also used his legs when playing against teams that like to blitz.

The Chiefs, under defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, like to apply pressure, and Purdy could have 12.5 yards completion on Sunday. – Trepedie

Brandon Aiyuk Under 4.5 Reception (-130, Caesars)

Aiyuk has been held to just three catches in each of the 49ers’ last three games, including both postseason games.

He had 32 yards against the Packers and 68 yards and a score against the Lions.

Things won’t be easy against a tough Chiefs defense.

As explained here, Kansas City relies on male coverage, and Aiyuk is resisting that plan.

Jarius Snead, the Chiefs’ standout cornerback who allowed just 51.9 percent of his catches this season, could make life difficult for Aiyuk.

The 49ers will likely try to rush the ball to a vulnerable front to beat the Chiefs, which could limit Aiyuk’s chances.

I’m betting on Aiyuk having a quiet game. – mcgrath

Christian McCaffrey Under-18.5 Rushing Attempts (+104, Bet Rivers)

McCaffrey’s performance this season has been great, so I’m going to bet on the under here.

Andy Reid is too good a coach to simply let the 49ers beat him with his best players, even if Kansas City’s rushing defense is weak.

The 49ers’ scheme and how they use McCaffrey are also factors.

Despite his talent, McCaffrey has eclipsed that mark in only seven of 18 games (38.9 percent) this season, including just one game in the playoffs.

He had 20 rushes against the Lions, but just 17 against the Packers. Before the 20-carry game against Detroit, McCaffrey hadn’t cleared 18.5 carries since Nov. 23.

The 49ers will also definitely use Deebo Samuel out of the backfield, taking potential carries away from CMC.

McCaffrey will instead receive the ball as a receiver, which doesn’t help this prop. – Trepedie
