Police in Duluth, Minnesota, are actively investigating after discovering five people dead at two separate homes in West Duluth around 2:10 p.m. Thursday.
According to a press release, Duluth Police responded to a welfare check call in the 6000 block of Tacony Street and found a 47-year-old woman and a boy dead inside.
The investigation led to the identification of the suspect at a residence in the 4400 block of West 6th Street.

Officers were able to enter the home and found the suspect, a 46-year-old man, as well as another 45-year-old woman and a juvenile deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Police officials said the suspect also died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police believe the victims are known to each other, but are not releasing their names at this time pending notification of next of kin.
