Five members of a Utah family, including three children, were found dead inside a home near Salt Lake City, police said.
Those killed were two adults, an 11-year-old boy and two girls, ages 9 and 2, West Valley Police Department spokeswoman Rosean Vainuk said. It was not immediately clear how they died.
“This goes far beyond the everyday. We looked at the number of homicides that have occurred in this city today, and in all of 2024, there have been four homicides in this city. So this is more than double that number,” she said. KSTU.

Vainuku said the “absolutely horrific” incident was “isolated to this house,” adding that authorities do not believe the suspect is at large.

Vainuku said police are searching the house and looking for evidence from the doorbell camera to piece together what happened.

The 17-year-old boy is “injured and hospitalized, so there are some challenges in communicating with him and getting further information,” Vainuku added.
