Respondents were asked to indicate what crime they thought President Trump was charged with. The poll found that 58% of respondents were most likely to correctly say that he was indicted on charges of “taking classified documents from the White House and obstructing recovery efforts.”
Meanwhile, charges related to President Trump’s efforts to disrupt the certification of the 2020 election were the least familiar to respondents. Only about half of respondents correctly said Trump was charged with “attempting to interfere with the certification of the presidential election.”
The YouGov poll was conducted among 1,594 adults between January 25 and 29 and had a margin of error of 2.7 percentage points.
